Bristol in Bloom 2: Warriors is probably one of the most sought after Bristol scene videos of all time, and in the two decades since the video premiered, its fate seems to have become shrouded in some sort of mystery. On paper, Bristol in Bloom 2: Warriors is the follow up to Louis Gane's 2003 VHS release Bristol in Bloom, though in reality it was a project that spanned nearly three years, and involved a massively increased cast on both sides of the lens.
Whereas the original Bristol in Bloom was by and large the handiwork of Louis, and featured only three standalone parts (Matt 'Boyo' Williams, Ashley Skidmore and Korahn Gayle), the follow up was pieced together from footage gathered by Louis, George Nevin and Imran Ramzan, and featured parts and appearances from pretty much everyone who was skating in Bristol around the mid-2000s. So alongside the original trio, you get VX introductions to Layth Sami, Louis Marshall, Ben Minors and Harry Ogilvie, first and presumably last parts for Luke Lock and Ned Keal (yep, that's Stalker's brother), cameos from Will Ainley, Danny Wainwright, Flynn Trotman, Matt 'Stalker' Keal, Zak Pitter... The West Country list is truly exhaustive.
Having premiered a version of the video in Bristol around Christmas 2005, Bristol in Bloom 2: Warriors was expected to be released on DVD soon after, though for reasons unknown, it never actually happened. A very small number of homemade DVDs did circulate, but by all accounts, the video just vanished off into West Country obscurity, and the crew focused their efforts on the next communal video to come out of the city, 2010's Bristol's Finest.
Anyway, after years of people asking "whatever happened to Bristol in Bloom 2?", the BFC YouTube page have gotten hold of a copy, and have uploaded the full 55-minute production, enabling it to finally be enjoyed by all! So if you fancy winding the clock back a whole 20 years and revisiting the Bristol scene of old, now you finally have the chance.
At long last: enjoy!
