This past Saturday saw friends and family from right across the globe say goodbye to Ralph Roberts, who tragically passed away on January 3rd. Ralph was a lifelong skateboarder who was raised in Lytham, Lancashire, before relocating to London to study Graphic Design at Central Saint Martins. Following his graduation, Ralph landed himself a job at Goodhood, though soon found himself working with the London based team at Vans.
Ralph gravitated towards skateboarding during his childhood years, and was instrumental in getting his hometown it’s permanent skatepark built.
Ralph was merely 26 years old when he suddenly passed away due to a catastrophic throat infection and related breathing complications that were not COVID-19 related.
In the wake of Ralph’s untimely passing, his family and friends have established the Live like Ralph Just Giving page, where they are aiming to raise funds in order to connect more people with skateboarding, especially those who may not presently have the means. Please support this fantastic cause by clicking below and donating whatever you can.
Ralph’s friends at TeeJerker and Goodhood have also released some special shirts in support of the charity; the Live Like Ralph TeeJerker shirts have already sold out, but please pick up a Goodhood Ralph Forever shirt by clicking below. There are three days left to place your pre-order.
Last summer, Ralph spent some time back in his native Lytham, meeting up with Ryan Robinson, and regularly skating around their old stomping ground of Preston. Ryan has kindly edited up this recent footage into a short Ralph Forever section, which can be enjoyed below.
All who had the pleasure of crossing paths him will miss Ralph’s positivity, enthusiasm and infectious energy; our hearts and thoughts are with Ralph’s family and friends right now, but please get behind the great things that are happening in his name.
Rest easy, mate.
