My Friend Who Died - full film

Writer: The Skateboarder's CompanionThe Skateboarder's Companion

Produced by James Harris, My Friend Who Died tells the story of Jamie Clapp, a skater from Mangotsfield who tragically died as the result of a light aircraft accident in 2007. The film covers how Jamie's local skate scene dealt with the loss of their friend, and fought to build a skatepark in his memory.

"Having this film out now feels like a big weight has been lifted! I've tried three times over the course of the last 17 years to make this film about Jamie, and I think I've now finally done the story justice.

Jamie had such an impact on my skateboarding community growing up, and continues to do so with the memorial skatepark at Emersons Green that we built in his honour in 2011.

I'd like to think that this will inspire others to make their own films, and give hope to anyone that's going through a dark patch."
