U.K. skateboarding legend (that term gets thrown around lightly, but in this instance, its use is more than justified) and inspiration to all Sue Hazel has recently been diagnosed with an aggresive form of breast cancer. Being the out and out ruler that she is, Sue is remaining positive, and is determined to keep on skating (and rock climbing - her other passion) for as long as she physically can.
Now 60 years young and in her 46th year of skating, Sue stopped by Duck Lane skatepark in Bournemouth yesterday for a session with some locals, and to chat about her cancer diagnosis with Richie Inskip. Take in the edit from the afternoon below, and be sure to wish Sue well with her upcoming treatment.
To learn more about Sue and her story so far, please check out this brilliant article over on the Womxn Skate History website.
Best wishes, Sue!
