Fog Lane skatepark in Didsbury might not be the first destination that springs to mind when you think about skateboarding in Manchester, but last Sunday, the local skate community took the place over and went to war with its unforgiving, often under-appreciated set up.
Joe Gavin put the call out via his Maybe Hardware operation, and the Mancunion skate scene turned up in droves, mostly adhering to the 'no camo, no entry' dress code. Local legend Damo kicked off proceedings by almost halfcab heelflipping into the mini, before the rest of Manchester took over and gave Fog Lane a camouflage covered kicking.
Alex Davis was on the mic, Joe Gavin was behind the lens, and the likes of Ricky Davidson, Neil Worthington, Rick Fields, John Bell, Jiri Bulin, Toby Alexander, Tony Da Silva, Sam Mason, Patrick Merryfield and Paul 'Hilly' Hill absolutely smashed it - and themselves - for what is undoubtedly one of the events of 2021.
