'Through the Eyes of Ruby' (1998) - full Sumo Skateshop video online!

Following on from his online release of 2001's Steady, Matt 'Swift Blazer' Swift continues on his mission to preserve South Yorkshire skateboard history, this time around uploading Neil Chester's Through the Eyes of Ruby, the legendary 1998 Sumo Skateshop video.

Through the Eyes of Ruby was released in late 1998, and focused on the crew that could be found regularly occupying Sumo's unit on Devonshire Street (literally just over the road from where Slugger now sits). Neil's first release proper definitely served as a declaration of intent, with a solid mix of known types and local heroes, spot on filming and editing, and a soundtrack that made skateboarders from all over the country ask, "who is Elliott Smith?"

Waste no time in sending yourself back to the Sheffield of 23 years ago now; featuring Mark Baines, Joel Curtis, Scott "I tried to be dope" Palmer, a young Louis Slater, John Winter, the pair of postmen Neil Chester and Rob Ransford, along with appearances from Harry, Garry Woodward, Ali Boulala, Alex Moul, Set Curtis, Gustav Eden and more!

Please note: the intro song, park section and intro song to Rob Ransford and Neil Chester's shared part have had to be muted because of copyright.
