Vans Shop Riot 2023 - this weekend!

Having held their first post-COVID gathering in Leeds last year, for 2023, Vans have decided to take their always-guaranteed-to-be-epic Shop Riot event to the Land of Dragons, for a day of good natured retail based carnage at the mighty Spit and Sawdust, Cardiff.

On Saturday August 5th (that's tomorrow), teams of representatives from skate stores dotted all around the country will battle it out for the top spot on the coveted Shop Riot podium, in hope of securing their share of the £3750 prize purse on offer and an all expenses paid trip to the European finals later this year. In addition to the main event, there promises to be food and drink, giveaways, prizes, and top quality banter from Christian Hart and the Spit and Sawdust locals.

Doors open at 11:00 with kick off expected to take place at 13:00, so if you’re in the area and want to show your support for your local skate shop, or just fancy watching some ballistic skateboarding first hand, get yourself along to Spit and Sawdust and join in the ensuing mayhem.

If you happen to be in town this evening, semi-local brands Carve Wicked and Forecast have reportedly formed like Voltron to host a precursory event that promises to more than entertain the gathering masses. A specially built Cardiff-themed obstacle will be unveiled this afternoon at Bute Square, before the first Cardiff Skateboard Club endorsed session kicks off at 5pm.

See you all there!
